Loc Love

hmmm this morning I realized that I am in love with my locs. We (the locs and I) went for a swim yesterday after work. I came home and clarified to spare them the drama of pool chemical foolishness, and wrapped them in a dark colored tee shirt to pull out some of the water. After the shirt was removed the locs just kind of fell into a style lol. I woke up and they were still that way. I guess that they're just like mommy in that they know what they like and won't be moved for anything other than the desire to move. I also love that on Friday night I had all of an hour to get ready for a birthday party so I came home, spritzed the locs , threw in some rollers (haphazardly at best) and within an hour got enough curl to use an elastic band (thin ouchless band) to create a sexy snazzy but SUPER EASY style. I used the band to pull back most of the locs and then left the front out to frame my face. Sorry no pictures this time I was in a rush on Friday, and I'm in my robe right now lol.

5 Months today

Today my locs are 5 months old, and they really really need a retightening but I'm just too lazy and too broke to do it/get it done. Outside of that I've got the dye bug again but I'm holding out just because I know that once it gets warm for good and the pool opens I'll be outside a lot and will most likely have a major color change... all in all the babies are good and so am I. WOO HOO.

4 Months OMG

We turned 4 months old... 7 days ago lol.

I'm so in love with my locs right now. They're finally starting to look like locs

and that really excites me. I also decided that I'd be patient and not dye them. Instead I've decided to wait until my birthday in September and let my amazing loctician do it for me. Instead I decided to make the loc babies a hat for their anniversary gift. I'm doing Afya Ibamu's Kinky Reggae in red black and green. I'll post pics when I finish the hat.

Curls take 2

I took the loc babies out for a night on the town last night... I decided to try the curls again, but this time I used pipe cleaners and the soft pillow rollers. I only had about 2 hours for the rollers to stay in so the curls fell by the end of the night ( a few survived). Needless to say, a good time was had by all.

Rollerset Results

The following picture is the result of my sleeping on the rollers from the previous post.It wasn't exactly what I hoped for but I did have a cute/different look on Sunday. Too bad it was only for work and a crappy dinner date. I just cannot believe how much shrinkage I've had . I expected it but can't believe it, go figure. I think I may invest in some perm rods for the next attempt at curly baby locs.

Re-ti Two and Roller Set

Today I had my second re-tightening session with my amazing and awesome loctician. She gave me an up-do that I loved, but couldn't keep due to the fact that the pins made my scalp insanely sore. So I took it down and did a roller set which I will take down and photograph in the morning before I go to work. I didn't do the roller set with anything in particular in mine so there's a pretty spastic mix of curlers in my hair DON'T LAUGH.
